Lauren Axton Brereton, Psy.D., LPC
I was motivated to become a psychologist to support and encourage individuals to thrive on their journeys. I greatly enjoy working with adolescents, school age children, families, adults, and couples. My experience has been diverse, working in numerous placements from group homes to counseling agencies. I have been privileged to know so many different people and stories.
My philosophy of care is one of commitment, support, and compassion. I believe that health is shown in our ability to confront our problems and develop meaningful relationships. We will work to understand you in context: family history, religious background, and early relationships, in order to aid in moving forward in the present.
I earned an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University, and earned my Masters and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College. My dissertation was a psychoanalytic study of marital theology and its impact on marital quality.
