I've been a counselor since 2004, working as a therapist and social worker with children, teens, and families in the community and in schools. I have a bachelor's in family studies from Central Michigan University.
I offer a warm, open space to talk about the places where you feel stuck, and I shape our sessions around your needs and interests.
I especially care about anxiety and family-of-origin issues. Many of us carry childhood hurt and trauma into adult life, and exploring those patterns can help you move forward. I also enjoy working with people navigating ADHD.
I often use schema therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I'm also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, an eye movement therapy that grew out of EMDR. It's been used with good results for PTSD, anxiety, and phobias, sometimes in just a few sessions.
