Sophia Emmert

Hi, I'm Sophia. I'm working on my master's in clinical mental health counseling at Wheaton College. For much of my life I never imagined becoming a counselor. It was only when I deeply needed help myself that I began to understand the healing that can happen when someone is willing to truly sit with you in your pain.

My counselor met me in some of my hardest moments with compassion, patience, and understanding. Together we found a way forward at a pace that felt gentle and doable. That changed my life, and it's a big reason I'm drawn to this work. There's something deeply meaningful about not having to sit alone in the dark anymore. Healing often begins when we no longer have to carry our pain by ourselves. It's a privilege to walk with people in their stories, and I hope you find safety, compassion, understanding, partnership, and steadiness in our work together.
